SIMCO Mechanical is a growing commercial HVAC provider in the Los Angeles Area. The HVAC Project Assistant / Project Engineer will support the project management team in the planning, execution, and completion of HVAC construction projects. This role will involve coordinating with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to plans / specifications. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of HVAC systems, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The position is full time in our Altadena, CA office.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in the planning and execution of HVAC projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate project schedules, materials, and resources to ensure timely project delivery.
- Support the preparation and review of project proposals, budgets, and estimates.
- Monitor and track project progress, identifying potential issues and proactively resolving them.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
- Assist with the procurement of materials and equipment for HVAC projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and HVAC industry regulations.
- Support project managers in reviewing project drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies or design changes.
- Conduct site inspections and assist in quality control and project audits.
- Assist with the coordination of HVAC system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Provide support to project management team, field personnel, and clients.
- 4 years of experience in HVAC project management or related field (preferred).
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, including design, installation, and maintenance (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, Outlook, and Teams) and Revu Bluebeam.
- Familiarity with industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Procore, Revu Bluebeam and project management tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to company procedures, protocols, and systems, and consistently follow established processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations.
