This extensive renovation will preserve the landmark’s 1940 art deco distinction and authentic charm while modernizing interiors from top to bottom — all embracing the rich heritage originally crafted by Morris Lapidus and Igor Polevitzky, two of the most celebrated Art Deco architects of the mid-twentieth century.
The Shelborne will introduce four vibrant new food & beverage destinations to the neighborhood, each suited for warm weather dining, with an all-day signature restaurant, a lobby bar- lounge, and curated cafe. Resort amenities include a spacious pool and lush garden lounge, indoor-outdoor cabanas, sundeck terrace, state-of-the-art fitness center, dedicated access to a private beach club, and more than 15,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting & event space.
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our housekeeping department. This role ensures that our guest rooms and public areas maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and efficiency while leading a team of dedicated housekeeping professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
Supervise, train and motivate housekeeping staff to uphold luxury service standards
- Assign and inspect guest rooms, suites and public areas to ensure impeccable cleanliness and attention to detail
- Monitor housekeeping supplies and linen inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and cost control
- Collaborate with the Front Office and Maintenance teams to address guest requests and resolve any housekeeping-related issues promptly
Implement and maintain cleaning procedures and safety protocols in compliance with hotel standards and regulations
Guest Experience & Quality Assurance
Conduct regular quality inspections of rooms and public spaces, ensuring consistency with brand and Forbes Travel Guide (if applicable) standards
- Address guest concerns and special requests professionally, ensuring a seamless and comfortable stay
Uphold sustainability initiatives and eco-friendly housekeeping practices as part of The Shelborne’s commitment to responsible hospitality
Team Development & Training
Support onboarding and continuous training of housekeeping associates to enhance service excellence
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment while ensuring high staff morale and engagement
Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching as needed
Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience in a supervisory housekeeping role, preferably in a boutique or luxury hotel setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor a team
- Keen attention to detail and passion for maintaining luxury hospitality standards
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and safety standards
- Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and housekeeping software is a plus
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed
