La Piscina Assistant General Manager

Located on the 5th floor of the Austin Proper Hotel, La Piscina is a convivial poolside restaurant and bar serving Texas-inspired Mexican cuisine. The vibrant, open space overlooks the downtown Austin bustle as groups convene over family-style platters, ceviches and table-top sizzling fajitas, with fresh seafood grilled over a wood fire and house-made tortillas from an open comal. The bar provides an accompanying selection of frozen margaritas, native Mexican spirits, small-batch tequila & mezcal as well as an assortment of outdoor-friendly snacks.

Job Overview

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for ensuring that service runs smoothly as well as managing La Piscina colleagues. This key role is a hands-on, floor-based position, so a confident and outgoing personality is essential. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of leadership, genuine hospitality and care for staff while understanding and implementing contemporary luxury / lifestyle standards in a luxury environment.

Requirements :

• Strong restaurant knowledge
• Knowledgeable with cocktails, wine and spirits
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Actively interacts with the guests during operations
• Maintains the quality and consistency of the guest experience
• Ability to motivate, inspire and lead a team to work cooperatively to achieve a designated goal
• Flexible schedule; willing and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a leader in a similar restaurant / hospitality operation achieving elevated service standards
