Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Head Accountant at Proper Roofing & Remodeling. The Head Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll. The Head Accountant will also be responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, and providing strategic financial recommendations to the business owners.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
- Generate management reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets.
- Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Preparation of financial forecasts.
- Payroll for all departments
Cash Flow Management:
- Oversee daily cash flow activities and optimize working capital.
- Implement effective cash management strategies to ensure liquidity.
- Coordinate with various departments to streamline financial processes.
- Compliance and Tax Management:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements.
- Collaborate with external auditors for periodic audits and reviews.
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial accounts.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Supervise the processing of invoices and payments.
- Manage customer invoicing and collection processes.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and take appropriate actions.
Software Proficiency:
- Utilize QuickBooks Online for accurate and efficient financial record-keeping.
- Leverage Microsoft Excel for complex financial analysis, modeling, and reporting.
- Proficiently use MS Office products to enhance overall productivity and communication.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification is a plus.
- Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable
- Proven experience in accounting and financial management roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax compliance.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and MS Office products.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
Compensation: $60,000 per year with potential for bonuses periodically throughout the year
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm at our office at 9000 Six Pines Dr, Shenandoah, TX 77380.
