RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPAN OF AUTHORITY
Operations & Quality Control
- Manage daily production operations to ensure efficiency, product consistency, and adherence to quality standards.
- Implement and maintain robust quality control measures to uphold food safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure full compliance with USDA regulations and industry best practices for a safe and compliant production facility.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-functioning facility, ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
- Oversee and update all operational manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Travel as required to meet with suppliers, customers, and attend key management meetings.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor a diverse production team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide clear direction to ensure proper execution of recipes, production schedules, and operational workflows.
- Address and resolve internal and external concerns to maintain operational efficiency and team morale.
- Oversee facility maintenance, establishing and executing a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure equipment reliability.
Strategic Planning & Business Growth
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive growth, operational efficiency, and profitability, reporting directly to ownership.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market opportunities to inform business decisions.
- Oversee all aspects of the Portland production facility, including production, supply chain management, and vendor relations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all orders, working with senior management to expand customer accounts while maintaining strong existing relationships.
- Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and industry partners.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and present regular performance reports, identifying challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules.
- Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and compliance measures aligned with company standards and regulatory requirements.
