Position Overview
Over the last 14 years, Property Pros Land Management, LLC has become the premier Landscape Design and Build firm in the area, with a stellar reputation in the Indianapolis community. Based out of Fortville, Property Pros services all of central Indiana with their landscape maintenance and outdoor design needs. The Director of Sales & Design will be responsible for overseeing all landscape and hardscape designs and estimates to ensure client needs are being met and that the team reaches all set goals. This role will aid in estimating designs, conducting client presentations, selling the finalized projects, and helping to oversee project installation. As part of the Design Team, this position will also have the opportunity to draft projects for sales team members that are not designers. Constant written communication between the Sales & Design and Production teams are a must to ensure documentation of any ideas or changes.
Essential Responsibilities for the Director of Sales & Design
- Ensuring that the team follows the Property Pros Sales Team: Standards of Process, which will ensure a professional and consistent experience for all clients.
- Generating leads for the company through new and existing relationships to help team achieve annual sales goals.
- Meeting with new and existing clients, estimating and/or designing projects, and selling the projects profitably to the client.
- Managing estimates, market pricing, and profitability of proposed jobs, including maintaining accurate costs in Aspire.
- Reviewing all estimates to confirm that accurate job hours and material quantities have been included.
- Finalizing and approving job folders, so they are ready to hand over to the Production Team.
- Providing all Crew Members with the items and communications necessary to be successful with their projects. Listing the tools, equipment, and materials needed, as well as outlining a detailed description of the task with clear expectations of the time frame.
- Monitoring job quality, including promptly and clearly communicating with Crew Leaders and Crew Members regarding any unacceptable aspects of the project installation with a plan to resolve any issues.
- Helping to schedule subcontractors and managing the subcontractor relationships. Overseeing jobsites for quality and efficiency, while maintaining a high level of communication between the production teams, subcontractors, and members of management.
- Attending weekly Production and Project Handoff meetings to facilitate good communication with the installation teams and ensure they have the necessary information to complete the design as intended.
- Participating in all project walkthroughs to review details of the project and discover potential complexities that might not have been covered in the original design.
- Understanding the client’s needs and wants, providing ongoing communication with the clients, and relaying any information to the Production Team to guarantee client satisfaction.
- Providing supervision and training to the team to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Working with the Director of Human Resources to complete any necessary write-ups, termination documentation, and reviews. Communicating any necessary information regarding the employees to the Director of Human Resources and President.
- Attending weekly meetings with the Sale & Design team members to review current workload, upcoming workloads, current designs, projects sold for that week/year, analysis of profitability of completed jobs, etc.
- Reviewing and approving sales sheets, completed by the team.
- Working with the President to create yearly sales goals, as well as assigning and managing each team member’s annual goals.
- Completing any other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license, required
- High school diploma or GED, required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or related study, preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the landscape/hardscape industry, required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a management or leadership position, preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and SketchUP/Uvision/3D design software, required
- Capable of meeting with clients at their homes, required
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to read and write, required
- Self-motivated, with the ambition and willingness to take initiative, required
- Highly organized and able to follow processes, required
