Job Summary

The HSE Equipment Specialist 1 acts as a liaison between the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Equipment Specialist Lead and field operations; trains and evaluates new and existing hydraulic fracturing (HF) employees; assists in developing the organization’s safety policies and procedures; and ensures that proper training materials are accessible.

Responsibilities
  • Work as a liaison between Equipment Specialist Lead and HF field operations
  • Oversee daily hydraulic fracturing operations (such as rig up, rig down, and equipment maintenance) and assist as needed to ensure the safety of employees and the safe movement of equipment on location
  • Collect information and pictures of new equipment in operation for use in future training
  • Maintain records of all software programs used for training field employees
  • Assist HSE Equipment Specialist Leads with reviewing and updating HSE training policies and procedures
  • Travel to job locations throughout the Permian and Delaware Basins (West Texas and New Mexico) as needed
  • Ensure the accessibility of proper training material and software for every equipment variation
  • Train and evaluate new and existing hydraulic fracturing employees on blender, Chem-Ad, hydration, line, and pumps
  • Submit all requests for tools, parts, and light duty vehicles to the HSE Equipment Specialist Lead
  • Attend meetings and trainings for new equipment
  • Assist HSE Equipment Specialist Supervisor with future training projects
  • Keep current on HSE policies and procedures to properly answer any questions personnel may ask
  • Encourage employees to know and enforce HSE Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) on location
  • Maintain required regular communication with the HSE Equipment Specialist Lead and Supervisor via approved messaging application concerning daily activities, current location, location changes, duties accomplished on location, changes in work schedule, or any other information requested
  • Safely operate a company vehicle day or night, on various road types, and in all weather conditions
  • Maintain compliance with all job location policies and procedures (i.e., always sign in at company man trailer and data van, etc.)
  • Maintain compliance with HSE policies by attending all required training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Hydraulic Fracturing, required
  • Maintaining a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required
  • English/Spanish bilingual required
  • Must be able to operate all equipment used in hydraulic fracturing operations and train employees to do so
  • Must be able to troubleshoot all hydraulic fracturing equipment and basic software
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, can interact in a professional manner with clients, team, and personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Personable, can maintain good rapport with organizational leadership, clients, and team
  • Must be able to pass knowledge to others in a learning environment
  • Must be driven, self-motivated, well-organized, and have good time management skills
  • Flexible, can easily handle changes to HSE program requirements and organizational policies
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work-related software
  • Must be physically able to sit or stand for long periods, work indoors and outdoors, and withstand extreme weather conditions
  • Must be physically able to safely operate a company vehicle day or night, on various road types, and in all weather conditions
