Essential Functions
- Responsible for providing ongoing technical support and maintenance for the Workday FINS functional areas, including configuration, business processes and related security.
- Owns the responsibility for the Global Service Desk ticket queue for FINS functional tickets. Ensures that tickets are resolved in a timely manner in accordance with applicable SLAs.
- Gather requirements for improvements and new functionalities through collaboration with cross-functional business teams and develop the solution to meet the business needs.
- Evaluate existing functionalities and ensure they continue to meet the needs of the business.
- Monitor existing functionalities and troubleshoot and correct any errors or failures on a timely basis.
- Collaborate with the Workday Integration Developer as the Workday FINS subject matter expert to support any related integrations.
- Create and maintain process documents as needed.
- Serve as the Workday FINS Lead for Workday projects, including optimization, implementation of new features and integrations of future acquisitions.
- Creates and documents test scenarios to validate configuration, executes the test scenarios and/or provides the test scenarios to other teams for testing, provides inputs on FINS considerations and dependencies to the Testing Leads to ensure sufficient FINS testing coverage for acquisition integrations and other major changes to the system (releases, new functionality, etc.).
- Supports the process for review and testing of semi-annual Workday releases and ensures any issues identified in the FINS functional areas are researched and resolved during the release testing window.
- Acts as SME for Kainos SmartTest FINS testing.
- Participate in the Workday Community and other resources, including training and user groups, to establish awareness of current trends, enhancements, releases and system bugs.
- Work closely with IT Service Management and the Workday Product Team to secure optimal uptime, performance, and usage of the product.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Advanced knowledge in Workday FINS functional areas, including but not limited to FDM, Accounting, Customers, Suppliers, Expenses, Banking & Settlement, Business Assets, and Financial Reporting.
- Knowledge of Workday security structure as it relates to the above noted functional areas.
- Comprehension of the interrelationships between the various functional areas within Workday.
- Understanding of tax setup (Sales Tax, GST, VAT, etc.) within Workday a plus.
- Must have a can-do attitude along with an ability to learn new skills.
- Motivated, possesses self-awareness and a demonstrated ability to collaborate with other high-performing team members.
- Outstanding organizational, prioritization, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to drive projects, gather requirements, provide development estimates, and meet expected delivery timelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills needed to work effectively with non-technical functional team members and business owners.
- Ability to adapt to multiple changing business priorities with calm and ease.
- Motivated and have a demonstrated ability to collaborate with other high-performing team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or similar, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 5 years of direct experience configuring, maintaining and optimizing Workday FINS functional areas.
- Adaptive Planning experience a plus.
- Relevant Workday Certifications a plus.
- A combination of implementation and operational experience is preferred.
