Propulsion Controls Engineering is seeking a dynamic and experienced Planner / Scheduler Supervisor, with a minimum of five years experience in project scheduling, planning, or production managment; supporting our Bremerton & Everett, Washington locations. PCE is a full service electro-mechanical repair and diesel repair contractor. PCE has garnered a wealth of extensive experience in successfully executing major system overhauls across numerous ports throughout the world on virtually every class of ship currently in operation.
Position Summary - Planner / Scheduler Supervisor:
The Planner/Scheduler Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the scheduling team to ensure efficient planning and execution of ship repair projects. This role involves developing, maintaining, and optimizing the master production schedule using tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera. The Planner/Scheduler Supervisor will collect and analyze project data, ensure accurate schedule updates, and coordinate with key stakeholders to resolve conflicts and optimize resource allocation. Additionally, the position requires monitoring project milestones, generating reports, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and manage the scheduling team.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using scheduling software.
- Analyze data to optimize planning and scheduling ship repair projects.
- Ensure schedule accuracy and timely updates based on production input.
- Coordinate with project managers and operations teams to resolve conflicts.
- Track project milestones and align schedules with production goals.
- Prepare forecasts, variance reports, and scheduling documentation.
- Recommend and implement process improvements in planning and scheduling.
- Generate reports and scheduling updates for management review.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements for the Planner/Scheduler Supervisor:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Formal training in Microsoft Project or Primavera strongly preferred.
- 5 years of experience in project scheduling, planning, or production management.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Expertise in scheduling software and Earned Value Management.
- Strong understanding of production workflows, estimating, and resource planning.
- Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience in ship repair, manufacturing, or industrial production environments is strongly preferred.
