Cisco Wireless Engineer
Client : OST Global for a Pennsylvania Client
Location : Harrisburg, PA (Hybrid 3 Days On-Site / 2 Days Remote)
Rate : $95 - $100 / hr. on C2C, No benefits
Residency Requirements : Candidates must reside within a commutable distance from Harrisburg, PA, and hold a valid U.S. Green Card or U.S. citizenship.
Screening Requirements : All candidates must provide official identification displaying their current home address and photograph as part of the application process. Identity verification will be conducted through a video call prior to consideration for the position.
We are seeking a skilled Cisco Wireless Engineer to review, redesign, and implement innovative wireless solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in wireless network engineering, particularly with Cisco technologies, and will play a critical role in ensuring optimal wireless network performance, security, and reliability.
Core Competencies and Skills :
Cisco Wireless Technologies
- Deep understanding of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), Access Points (Client), and associated technologies (e.g., RF management, mobility, security).
Wireless Protocols
Proficiency in IEEE 802.11 standards (a / b / g / n / ac / ax) and Wi-Fi Alliance certifications (e.g., Wi-Fi CERTIFIED).Network Design and Implementation
Ability to design, plan, and implement complex wireless networks, including site surveys, RF planning, and AP placement.Troubleshooting and Optimization
Expertise in diagnosing and resolving wireless network issues, optimizing performance (e.g., RF interference, channel utilization, roaming), and ensuring high availability.Security
Knowledge of wireless security best practices, including WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 encryption and guest access policies.Automation and Orchestration
Familiarity with network automation tools and orchestration platforms (e.g., Cisco DNA Center) for efficient network management.Documentation
Ability to create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.Technical Skills and Certifications
Certifications
Cisco certifications : CCNP Wireless or higher preferred.Wireless certifications : CWNP certifications (e.g., CWAP, CWSP) are advantageous.Networking Protocols
Strong knowledge of TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, and RADIUS.Operating Systems
Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.Network Management Tools
Experience with tools like Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Wireshark, and other network monitoring solutions.Soft Skills
