Senior Accountant – Exciting Opportunity in the Wine Industry!
Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for numbers and a love for the wine industry? We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our client’s team and take charge of the day-to-day accounting functions. What You’ll Do:
- Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting to support leadership decision-making.
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax filings, including sales tax and excise tax reporting.
- Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Implement and enhance internal controls and accounting policies.
- Collaborate with departments to monitor costs and improve financial processes.
- Utilize accounting software and winery management systems for efficiency.
- Manage accounts receivable, follow up on past-due invoices, and coordinate collections.
- Process payments and reconcile customer accounts.
- Support direct and wholesale compliance.
- Perform other accounting-related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the wine industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Excel and winery-specific ERP systems (AMS, NetSuite, Commerce7, Bill.com experience a plus!).
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a fully onsite role.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
