What are the responsibilities and job description for the Conference Coordinator position at Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan?
The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan’s (PAAM) Child Abuse Prosecution Resources Training Unit is hiring a conference coordinator. The conference coordinator will report to the unit director and provide administrative support to further the project’s goals and objectives of collaborating with prosecutors’ offices, child protective services, law enforcement, and other identified partners to assess the need for and to develop and provide training programs for the effective investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases and the protection of children through abuse/neglect proceedings.
Responsibilities and Duties
This full-time position is grant funded. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with creating and coordinating the dissemination of educational materials and training on topics related to the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases.
- Review and negotiate hotel contract proposals and audit bills.
- Arrange all on-site conference and training needs including room setup, audio visual requirements, meals, and overnight accommodations when necessary.
- Provide audio visual support at conferences and trainings.
- Maintain records of trainings conducted, number of attendees, and other relevant data.
- General office work, supply ordering, and other tasks as assigned by the director of the unit.
Requirements
- Associate degree or two years relevant experience preferred.
- Familiarity with the criminal justice system, child protection proceedings, or victim advocacy services preferred.
- Must be able to review hotel contracts and be familiar with the needs of scheduling conferences including booking hotel rooms, training rooms, and using audio visual equipment, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy required. Must have excellent organizational, verbal and writing skills, including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, as well as Zoom and Google products required.
- Ability to create and maintain directories and databases.
- Must be willing to learn and use PAAM’s online registration system.
- Ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism are required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $44,657.00 - $52,624.00 per year
