Job Title: Executive Project Manager
Salary: $80,000 – $90,000
GENERAL SUMMARY
This position will serve as the Project Manager of the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Community Court program; a program designed to empower communities by giving the members of communities harmed by an individual’s criminal actions the ability to determine that individual’s sentence after conviction in a criminal court i.e., how the convicted individual can make up for the harm they caused. This position will be responsible for the development of the project followed by implementation and oversight.
The Project Manager will work with the Prosecutor’s Office, the courts, and community agencies to establish 3 pilot community courts. They must work closely with these agencies to identify eligibility requirements for community volunteers and length of service, eligibility requirement for defendants, availability of sentences, and communication and enforcement of sentences. The Project Manager will be responsible for securing appropriate space, tracking, and reporting of performance metrics, and training or procuring training for community volunteers. This position will report to and collaborate with a member of the WCPO attorney staff.
COMPENSATION: Compensation is commensurate with experience. Full medical benefits, as well as a retirement plan with robust time off, and paid parental leave, etc., with an annual step increase.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree from any accredited college.
Two or more years of project management experience. Experience designing and implementing projects across multiple agencies preferred. Training and practice in Restorative Justice or Mediation a plus.
TYPICAL JOB DUTIES:
- Serve as liaison between Community Courts, Prosecutors, Courts, and Probation by maintaining communication and coordination.
- Establish partnerships and buy-in of the project with affected criminal justice agencies.
- Engage with the Community and educate them about the program through presentations to community members or potential volunteers.
- Work with the Prosecutor’s Office and partner agencies to develop eligibility requirements, selection process, terms of service, and training curriculum for community participants.
- Secure appropriate event spaces.
- Coordinate activities by scheduling staff work assignments and ensuring priorities are being met.
- Track participant results i.e., completed or failed to completed sentence imposed by the community court.
- Track and report all relevant data for proper evaluation of the project.
- Track and report expenses by project site and item and maintain balanced budget.
- Monitor and report operational problems to WCPO supervisor in order to coordinate and implement strategic solutions as necessary. Ensure developments are incorporated into procedures and practices as they arise.
- Ensure compliance with WCPO policies.
- Prepare training materials for project staff.
