Job Title: Prosecutor Detective, Criminal Investigations Division

Salary: $ 84,867

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Prosecutor’s Detective. This role involves conducting investigations, collaborating with assistant prosecuting attorneys, businesses and law enforcement agencies to obtain necessary files and documents in preparation for trial, locating witnesses. conducting interviews, visiting crime scenes to gather additional information or physical evidence, preparing arrest and search warrants, etc.

COMPENSATION: Compensation includes full medical benefits, as well as a retirement plan with robust time off, and paid parental leave, etc.

NINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma
• A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• MCOLES certification
• 10 years of prior experience as a full-time police officer
• 5 years of criminal investigative experience

TYPICAL JOB DUTIES:

• Conduct Investigations of alleged violations of City, County, State and/or Federal laws.
• Collaborate with Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys in preparation for trial.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, i.e., Assistant Prosecutors, Detectives, Victim Advocates, law enforcement agencies.
• Ensure the security of the Prosector’s Office, its premises and employees; includes physical safety and protecting sensitive information
• Maintain detailed records of investigations and prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
