Job Summary

The Ogeechee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office is seeking a dedicated and motivated Pre-Trial Diversion Coordinator to lead the development and implementation of a new Pre-Trial Diversion Program. This newly created position will work closely with the District Attorney in implementing and managing a program aimed at providing eligible defendants with alternatives to traditional prosecution. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills and experience in community supervision, criminal justice, or program management.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Development: Collaborate with the District Attorney and other stakeholders to implement a comprehensive Pre-Trial Diversion Program.
• Case Management: Assess and monitor participants to ensure compliance with program requirements, including restitution, community service, counseling, and other rehabilitative measures.
• Community Engagement: Establish partnerships with local service providers, law enforcement agencies, courts, and community organizations to support program objectives.
• Policy and Procedure Creation: Contribute to the development policies, procedures, and eligibility criteria for program participation.
• Data Collection and Reporting: Track participant progress and program outcomes; prepare reports for the District Attorney and other relevant agencies.
• Legal Compliance: Ensure program operations align with legal standards and best practices.
• Victim and Defendant Communication: Maintain regular contact with participants and provide updates to victims when applicable.
• Training and Education: Provide training and information about the Pre-Trial Diversion Program to law enforcement, attorneys, and the community.
  
  

Additional Information

• This position requires a background check, drug testing and may require a valid driver’s license.
• Some travel within the judicial circuit may be required.
• The selected candidate will have the opportunity to shape and expand the program to meet the evolving needs of the community.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in community organization, supervision, probation, or a related area.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in program development and case management is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including law enforcement, attorneys, and service providers.
