Duties
The Dekalb County Solicitor-General’s Office is looking to hire a Public Relation Manager. The Duties include but are not limited to:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Liberal Arts, Public Relations, or related field
required; five years of experience in public relations, communications, community outreach, or a
related field to include lead or supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education,
training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s
license

Public Relation Manager
Duties
The Dekalb County Solicitor-General’s Office is looking to hire a Public Relation Manager. The Duties include but are not limited to:
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; develops and oversees employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control; compiles and reviews timesheets;
- Approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate;
- Assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; acts as a liaison between employees and management; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures.
- Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; prioritizes and schedules work activities to meet objectives;
- Ensures that subordinates have the proper resources needed to complete the assigned work;
- Monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff to assist with complex/problem situations and provide technical expertise;
- Provides progress and activity reports to management; and assists with the revision of procedure manuals as appropriate.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive communications plan to support the mission and objectives of the department/division; develops communications strategies;
- Reviews internal and external communications to ensure consistent messaging; creates and implements branding initiatives;
- Manages online presence; and generates public relations campaigns to support special projects, service changes, and new initiatives within the department.
- Oversees the creation of print and online content to publicize and promote department programs, facilities, events, or objectives; researches and verifies information; reviews, approves, or produces newsletters, calendars, brochures, and flyers;
- Monitors, approves, and creates content for social media and department website; and writes or edits official department announcements, emails blasts, press releases, letters, or posts.
