WHAT YOU'LL DO
Payroll Tax Compliance & Payments
- Execute all semi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly state and federal tax payments accurately.
- Reconcile tax payments to the general ledger and bank records.
- Maintain up-to-date tax IDs and ensure compliance with PEO & HRO tax filing requirements.
Tax Filings & Amendments
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Complete necessary amendments and abate penalties and interest when applicable.
- Support mandatory government reporting and ESAC audit responses.
Tax Issue Resolution & Client Support
- Research and resolve payroll tax-related notices and client inquiries independently.
- Collaborate with government agencies to clarify tax rules and resolve discrepancies.
- Balance third-party sick payment information, ensuring proper recording and tax filing.
Compliance & Continuous Learning
- Stay current with payroll tax laws, analyzing complex tax compliance issues.
- Provide guidance on multi-state tax requirements and identify potential risks to mitigate client exposure to penalties.
- Actively contribute to process improvements and best practices within the payroll tax team.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
- Expertise in payroll tax processes, including multi-state compliance.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to research and resolve tax issues efficiently.
- Proficiency in MasterTax and prior PEO experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all filings.
- Strong customer focus, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
