Court Reporter - James City County, Virginia (CRS09)

ProSidian Seeks a Court Reporter - Court Reporting And Transcription (CRS09) to support an engagement for DoD / Military Sector Clients. This role provides court reporting and transcription services for verbal testimony given during Agency proceedings requiring a transcribed record.
Responsibilities :
Perform work during regular business hours from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM EST, Monday through Friday.Flexibility to work during regular hours and, when necessary, take testimony outside of those hours, on weekends, and on holidays.Provide verbatim transcription services of testimony during proceedings requiring a transcribed record.Handle complex litigations and legal proceedings, ensuring discretion, confidentiality, and urgency.Provide real-time transcription of depositions and arbitrations.Collaborate with team members including client representatives and management.Attend depositions and other proceedings (online / in-person) that require written transcripts.Provide rough drafts of transcripts to counsel and parties involved, when requested.Transcribe, proof, and prepare transcripts for distribution using required court reporting tools.Maintain exhibits during depositions as needed.Prepare accurate final transcripts per client's request.Provide transcripts of proceedings upon request of judges, lawyers, or the public.Qualifications :
At least Two (02) Years of experience in court reporting with certification as a National Court Reports Association (NCRA) Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) or equivalent.Ability to report legal proceedings at speeds of 225 words per minute.Knowledge of legal and medical terminology, correct grammar, and principles of basic mathematics.Compliance with professional standards of the NCRA.Must be able to use a computer and be proficient in Microsoft Office Products.Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of Two (02) Years of experience in court reporting.Licensing Requirements :
Professional certification as a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) or equivalent.U.S. Citizenship Required.Travel : Occasional travel may be required within a 50 miles radius of Norfolk, Virginia.
