The ProSight IT team partners with its functional business associates to define the company’s technology strategy, deliver innovative applications and continuously improve its internal and customer-facing technology assets. We are seeking an Advanced Data Warehouse / Power BI Developer who has a broad understanding of data warehouse and interactive visualization development for external / customer facing consumption. A successful candidate must have an affinity towards user experience (UX), superior DW, SQL, DAX, and data modeling development skills and be a self-motivated, critical thinker.
What You'll Do:
- Utilize Azure Fabric and other interactive visualization tools to create compelling and intuitive user experiences for an external audience in custom and secure portals. The experience will include reports, interactive dashboards and other functionalities.
- Provide application development, support, and model building to be used for Analytics work by the research department. Provide models for external users.
- Utilize and set up Microsoft Azure Fabric environment and then educate others across the organization on Fabric tools use and advantages.
- Analyze data sources, aggregation tables, explore different levers withing Fabric for performance improvements.
- Perform analysis, design, develop, and maintain systems and subsystems, as it pertains to back-end databases.
- As needed: create data models, advanced SQL queries and Stored Procedures; update and/or create reports/dashboards.
- Work closely with business partners and stakeholders to determine and document business and functional requirements, translating those into detailed technical specifications and running code.
- Responsible for the documentation of and adherence to current development standards; to seek opportunities to utilize current or additional applications to create process improvements.
- Coordinate and support testing activities (including development of test cases and scheduling of test events with key IT staff and users) for changes and releases (both internal and vendor based) to web applications supported by the ProSight IT applications group.
- Be able to identify and solve problems on your own, with minimal supervision.
- Proactively identify opportunities to utilize current or innovative technical solutions to improve business processes and/or products that provide additional revenue, cost savings or efficiency gains.
- Create Solution/Application Architecture recommendations.
- Develop and implement deployment plans for promotion of application code through all environments.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required.
- 8 years professional experience required.
- 7 years in data warehouse / business intelligence space required.
- 7 years SQL development required.
- 1 years of on-the-job Azure Fabric experience required.
- Power BI embedded experience required. This experience must target external private audiences, not internal and/or public reports.
- Custom Web Dashboard development experience required.
- SSIS experience preferred.
- Python and .NET skills would be highly preferred.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies required,
- This individual must be highly motivated, self-directed, and possess solid execution and follow-up skills.
- The ability to probe beyond the surface of the requested data to get valuable (actionable) information is essential.
- Detail-oriented but understands broader impacts of projects and tasks.
- The ability to expand on the original request/question to deliver the data/answer and the information on how it relates on a larger scale.
- Must be able to check and validate the results of their own and other’s work.
- Adjust quickly to changing priorities as directed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Needs to possess a strong analytical, quantitative and objective outlook.
- Excellent people skills are also necessary since this position may interact with all levels of resources across the entire organization.
The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, job-related knowledge and market considerations. This role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on business results and individual performance.
