The Human Resources team supports our Business Services employee population by providing the partnership, care and development needed for individual employees to be successful in their own careers. That individual success, in turn, contributes to the overall growth and success of the Firm.

As an HR Business Partner, you will be a strategic advisor to leaders within Business Services to support the talent within their teams. You will advise on hiring decisions; succession planning; talent development; performance management; employee relations; and compensation.


The ideal candidate will be energized by a high growth and dynamic environment and will possess a hands-on proactive style with attention to detail and follow up.


Responsibilities


  • Providing hands-on HR support to Business Services leaders and employees, offering strategic support and guidance to managers in furtherance of the Firm’s strategic goals and plans
  • Conducting regular touch base meetings with all people managers within specific business lines to provide HR strategic workforce updates and to review talent, engage in succession planning, and provide coaching recommendations to optimize business performance
  • Attending management and staff meetings within specific business lines; staying aware of business issues and priorities so that you may provide strategic advice
  • Partnering with hiring managers within specific business lines to assess job needs and skill gaps, crafting job descriptions, and interviewing and recommending candidates for hire
  • Maintaining organizational charts for specific business lines
  • Working with managers during the promotion process to assess employee readiness for promotion and complete promotion applications
  • Assisting managers in making compensation recommendations during the year-end compensation review process
  • Coaching managers on providing constructive feedback, both during the year-end evaluation process and throughout the year
  • Helping managers resolve employee conflicts
  • Acting as a liaison between Benefits, employees and managers regarding sensitive medical issues and other leaves of absence
  • Assessing skill gaps within specific business lines and working with Talent Development to recommend training and coaching to address needs
  • Supporting the Chief Human Resources Officer and HR leadership in implementation of projects and other HR initiatives
  • While not directly managing them, providing coaching, mentoring and support to members of the HR department


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 4 – 6 years of experience in a similar role at a major professional services firm
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent analytic, communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to establish and manage deadlines and prioritize appropriately
  • Can work well independently and as a member of a team while also able to interact collaboratively and successfully across organizational departments and levels
  • Responsive, proactive; demonstrates high level of personal accountability
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in high-pressure situations and a fast-paced, multi- authority environment



This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $140,000 - $165,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
