JOB SUMMARY
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance and repair of the facilities and equipment under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager. It is important that this position is focused on safety, first and foremost.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform preventative maintenance on all production machines and equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts, equipment, and machinery regularly to ensure optimum working order in accordance with PM Schedule. This position will also examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
- Reliably disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Reassemble the equipment after servicing.
- Update service logs upon completion of repair or routine maintenance.
- Effectively perform electrical troubleshooting and minor electrical repairs that do not require a licensed electrician.
- Install, repair, remove or assemble office furniture. Assist with event set up and tear down.
- Service and replace minor plumbing fixtures.
- Keep the area around your workstation clean and free from dirt and debris. This may include cleaning assigned areas of the building or pieces of equipment as instructed by your supervisor.
- Accurately and rapidly diagnose problems with machinery or equipment.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete all assigned training courses.
- Contribute to a safe and environmentally secure work environment for themselves, their coworkers, and our customers by following established safety procedures.
- Report and take action to correct identified safety hazards during the day.
- Other duties as assigned to meet department and overall business goals.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Mechanical aptitude. Having a general working knowledge of HVAC, robotics, hydraulics, process logic controls, and experience with ladder logic is preferred.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Must be able to read and follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
- Must be proficient with work procedures, methods of operations, and equipment involved on the job.
- Must be willing to learn and adopt new or updated technologies and SOPs as required. Must be willing to teach others on troubleshooting when appropriate.
- Must have knowledge of safety procedures and know what personal protective equipment is required with different chemicals.
- Must be accurate, thorough, flexible, self-motivated, dependable, and able to keep up with production demands. Regular and punctual attendance is necessary.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Must show initiative and be able to tackle problems or situations by arriving at a proper solution with minimal guidance. Be able to work independently and be a self-starter.
- Must be able to work well with a variety of personalities within a production environment. Possess a team mindset.
- Must be able to communicate effectively. Practice active listening skills.
- Must be proficient in the safe operation of a forklift and its maintenance. Forklift certification as an operator required.
- Must be certified as a confined space entrant and attendant.
- Possess the knowledge and ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.

EDUCATION - CERTIFICATION
High school diploma or its equivalent. Technical trade certificate or five years of experience in a related field. Experience in an industrial setting required.
