Job Description:
The BPA Journeyman shall analyze business processes and document use cases to support more efficient decision-making and operations for the Knowledge Management (KM) office. As a member of an Agile team working in an Azure DevOps environment, the BPA will report to the Senior Analyst and Site Lead. He/She will be responsible for the following:
- Interface with stakeholders to analyze and define data requirements and specifications;
- Perform needs analysis to determine opportunities for new and improved business process solutions;
- Identify organizational inefficiencies using process improvement methodologies such as Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or Business Process Re-engineering;
- Help define project scope and objectives based on customer requirements;
- Communicate orally and in writing with groups or individuals, using multiple digital media and transmission means, to collect and convey information;
- Document business process solutions using industry standard flowcharting, modeling, and documentation conventions;
- Provide technical and user guide documentation for each process or project that includes the policy or procedures necessary and associated security requirements;
- Provide end-user documentation for each new process delivered, such documentation shall be delivered in the form of easily accessible platforms;
- Develop and implement quantitative and qualitative methods for measuring the impact of process improvement initiatives;
- Translate business needs into analytics, reporting requirements, and ensure successful delivery of end-user reporting solutions;
- Coordinate with systems architects and developers, as needed, to provide oversight in the development of design solutions.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. At least five (5) years of documented experience in the following:
- Knowledge of the capabilities and functionality associated with various technologies for organizing and managing information;
- Knowledge of organizational process improvement concepts and process maturity models;
- Skill in interfacing with customers and the interpretation and translation of customer requirements into operational capabilities;
- Ability to create business process maps or other workflow visualization tools;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and analyze and measure the impacts of completed projects;
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences of varying technical levels and collaborate effectively with others;
- Ability to assess and prioritize backlog requirements and;
- Ability to function effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Education:
- High School diploma required, plus the five to ten (5-10) years or more of experience. OR
- Degree in Information Systems or Business Process Engineering, plus one to two (1-2) years of experience.
Certifications:
- Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt/AgilePM Foundation or equivalent certification. May accept formal training with a certificate of completion.
