Overview: Under the supervision of the Sales Manager, the Kitchen & Bath Designer is responsible for the comprehensive design and presentation of cabinet, countertop, plumbing, and hardware products. This role ensures that each customer interaction is exceptional and that all projects are managed with precision and professionalism.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design Creation and Presentation
- Create detailed Kitchen & Bath designs utilizing 20/20 software.
- Prepare and present compelling product presentations to customers.
- Document project plans meticulously and communicate updates to the sales team and customers as needed.
- Product Management
- Develop and maintain expertise in Kitchen & Bath products to provide informed recommendations and support.
- Quote, order, and track Kitchen & Bath products, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Maintain current pricing for Kitchen & Bath products in the showroom.
- Place all orders for Kitchen & Bath products with manufacturers and ensure correct product ordering.
- Project Coordination
- Manage Kitchen & Bath projects by keeping accurate records and coordinating with installation contractors on final design specifications and product delivery timelines.
- Build and manage a list of Kitchen & Bath installers.
- Ensure that delivery expectations are communicated clearly to customers, contractors, and the showroom sales team.
- Educational and Professional Development
- Participate in educational events for trade professionals to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in kitchen design and sales.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience creating designs with 20/20 software.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Proven portfolio demonstrating design skills and proficiency in using 20/20 software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and experience using email.
- Comfortable with preparing and presenting product selections to customers.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Education:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in interior design preferred.
- Sales skills and project management experience preferred.
- NKBA certification is a plus.
