Prospect Construction is currently seeking a Construction Training and Development Specialist to join our team in either our Puyallup, WA office or our Missoula, MT office.
Prospect Construction is a Heavy Civil Contractor that specializes in water and wastewater treatment plants, hydraulic structures/facilities, shoring systems, large concrete tanks, pump stations/process facilities, dewatering, major excavations, structural steel, process equipment, and mechanical systems. Prospect began as a General Contractor in 1998, with our first office location in Puyallup Washington. Over the last few decades, Prospect has coupled its expertise in complex projects with its vast level of self-performance to grow into one of the premier treatment plant contractors in the Northwest. This continued growth has allowed Prospect to bring our expertise into new geographical regions, with the establishment of our office in Missoula, Montana in the Fall of 2020 and the opening of our Sheridan, Wyoming Office in the Summer of 2023.

The Training and Development Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training programs that support the professional growth and development of our Project Teams. This role will work closely with our Sr. Project Managers to identify training needs and opportunities, then facilitate the training and development required for team members at every level of the organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our workforce is equipped to meet the demands of the heavy civil construction industry, maintain safety standards, and uphold the company's commitment to growth and excellence.
Responsibilities can include but are not limited to:
- Facilitate individual team member development by ensuring that training information, resources, and opportunities are readily available to the project teams.
- Collaborate and assist Sr. Project Managers in the development of an effective mentorship program that focuses on cultivating future leaders within the company, potential career path options, and succession planning.
- Collaborate and assist Sr. Project Managers in conducting training and development needs assessments
- Work with the leadership team to Identify high-potential employees and create personalized leadership development plans to prepare them for advanced roles
- Provide ongoing coaching to managers and supervisors to enhance their leadership and people management skills
- Assess training needs through team member feedback, industry trends, and collaboration with leadership.
- Develop and deliver engaging training programs on technical skills, leadership development, and industry-specific knowledge.
- Leverage e-learning platforms and other digital tools to enhance training delivery and tracking.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and trends in training and development.
- Measure the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
- Continuously refine and improve training initiatives based on data-driven insights
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in training and development, preferably in the construction or heavy civil industry.
- Proven ability to design and implement effective training programs.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technologies.
- Certification in training or instructional design (e.g., CPTD, ATD) is a plus.
