Who Are We? Prospect Hill Academy Charter School is a highly successful urban PK-12 public school located in Somerville and Cambridge. What does a Department Chair at Prospect Hill do? Prospect Hill Academy Middle School is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and skilled instructional leader to lead the Math & Science department for grades 7 and 8. Responsibilities for this role include:

Instructional coaching and support for two Math and two Science teachers
Oversight and development of Math and Science curricula, in collaboration with teachers and district-wide curriculum leaders
Planning and facilitation of department planning and data meetings
Participation on the Middle School Instructional Leadership Team
Providing remedial instruction to small groups of students in Math Intervention

Differentiating instruction to make content accessible and challenging for all learners
Examining and challenging personal biases and systemic inequities in pursuit of anti-racist teaching, curricula, and culture
