What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secondary Extended School Year Teacher position at Prospect Hill Academy Charter School?
Prospect Hill Academy Charter School is looking for a qualified Special Education teacher to provide Extended School Year Services to Middle and High School Students during the month of July.
Services for students in grades 7-12 will be provided from July 7- July 31. Teachers will be responsible for planning and delivering effective specialized instruction for individuals or small groups of students who qualify for ESY services. Students will be grouped based on identified needs according to their Individualized Education Plans.
Orientation dates:
- (2) Virtual session, 3:30 - 5:00 pm, dates TBD
- (1) In-person session; June 23rd, 8:00am - 3:30pm
- Demonstrated track record of effective specialized instruction for students with mild-moderate special education needs
- Ability to analyze student learning data collected from daily instructional work, in order to monitor progress and adapt teaching
- Ability to support students with productive struggle and personal goal setting
- Ability to communicate with families about progress
- Ability to be reliable and responsible at all times
- Ability to complete Special Education progress reports at the end of the summer program
- Number of positions is dependent on enrollment.
- Must hold valid and current MA DESE certification as a Special Educator
- Experience teaching a structured phonics program preferred (Orton-Gillingham or Wilson)
