Job Description: Business Subject Matter Expert(SME)
Location: Golden, Colorado (Hybrid, Only Locals)
Rate: $35/hr on 1099.
Job description:
· Brings proven, specialized experience from related businesses or organizations as well as system integration and technology experience.
· Expertise could include various technologies and roles, including SME in product and software or functional areas.
· Lives locally and in-person interview may be required.
· This role is term limited and not contract to hire.
Position Description:
· The Specialist will use a variety of manual and automated techniques to ensure that documents comply, at a minimum, with all applicable accessibility criteria.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Using Adobe Acrobat, CommonLook, and similar tools to remediate PDF documents in order to ensure compliance with accessibility standards; ensure that complex documents meet or exceed all applicable standards.
· Other document remediation assignments could include web pages, Microsoft Office documents
· Using assistive technologies, such as screen readers (such as JAWS, Narrator, or NVDA), to manually ensure that document experiences are equitable and functional.
· Support and fulfill accessibility accommodation requests from external stakeholders.
· Track and report on progress and activities related to document remediation.
· Monitor and review updated or new accessibility and document standards as appropriate.
· Other duties as assigned
Minimum qualifications:
· Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe as well as the ability to quickly learn and apply other software skills.
· Software: Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience authoring and remediating documents for accessibility which includes experience auditing documents for accessibility compliance.
· 4-6 years of experience using Adobe Acrobat/Pro and Microsoft Office
· Software: CommonLook PDF or other document remediation tools; Screen Readers (JAWS, NVDA, Narrator, etc.) and other assistive technology used for manual accessibility testing
· Strong communication, organization, time management, prioritization, and collaboration skills
· Demonstrated ability to independently identify and analyze issues and develop appropriate solutions and plans of action
· Knowledge of accessibility standards such as Section 508, WCAG, PDF/UA
· Strong attention to technical detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
