Job Title : Lead Performance Engineer (JMeter & Performance Analysis)

Location : Boston, MA (Hybrid 3 days in office)

Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Performance Engineer with a strong background in JMeter and performance analysis to join our team. This is a hybrid position based in Boston, MA , requiring you to be in the office 3 days a week. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in performance engineering, including designing and executing performance tests, analyzing results, and optimizing systems for scalability and performance.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead performance testing efforts for complex applications, ensuring high-quality and scalable software solutions.
Design and implement performance test plans, scripts, and strategies using JMeter .
Perform thorough analysis of test results to identify bottlenecks, performance issues, and recommend optimizations.
Collaborate closely with development teams, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure performance objectives are met.
Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of existing systems and identify potential areas for improvement.
Conduct load, stress, scalability, and reliability testing for web-based applications and APIs.
Prepare comprehensive performance test reports with detailed analysis, recommendations, and solutions.
Troubleshoot performance issues in both pre-production and production environments, providing detailed diagnostics and solutions.
Mentor and guide junior engineers in performance testing practices, including JMeter scripting and performance analysis techniques.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in performance testing, ensuring the team applies the latest methods and tools.

Qualifications :

Minimum of 5 years of experience in performance engineering or a related field.

Strong proficiency in JMeter for performance testing, including script development, execution, and analysis.

Proven experience in performance analysis , identifying bottlenecks, and tuning systems for optimal performance.

Hands-on experience with load testing, stress testing, and scalability testing.

Familiarity with various monitoring tools and metrics to assess system performance (e.g., AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana).

Solid understanding of web technologies, databases, and APIs.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.

Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings and technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.

Desired Skills :

Experience with performance monitoring and profiling tools .

Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and integrating performance testing into the DevOps workflow.

Understanding of agile methodologies and working in an agile environment.
