What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Tech 1 position at Prospect Ridge Academy?
- Perform installation, maintenance, and support of hardware and software. Follow established procedures and guidelines and timelines, for system implementations. Troubleshooting of and preliminary diagnosis of hardware including but not limited to Chromebooks, Macbooks, and software problems. Repair or replace computer hardware, repair, replace or reinstall damaged software. Coordinate issues and efforts with IT Manager. Help maintain an efficient technology system as directed by the IT Manager.
- Provide help desk support to teachers, staff, parents, and students.
- Provide computer training and technology support to staff and teachers. May compose or help with the composing of computer or software training manuals. Assist staff with other technology needs, and may coordinate and/or compile data for reports.
- Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for staff and student computers.
- Perform special projects as assigned by the IT Manager.
- Follow policies established by the PRA Board of Directors, Adams 12 School District, and Colorado State-mandated school guidelines, except where PRA has received waivers.
- Assist staff and guests utilizing the facility with audio-visual operations; perform set-up and tear-down of audio-visual systems; ensure audio-visual functionality for each event; assist and train end users to navigate the system; troubleshoot and repair system problems as needed coordinate and manage audio-visual equipment available for check-out.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Serving on Committees or Task Forces (minimum once a month)
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Relevant professional or technical/field experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with Apple products is preferred.
- Possess Apple ACSP and A certifications or be able to obtain them within 12 months.
- Read and interpret documents such as rules, policy and expectation, agreements, rubrics, scope and sequence documents, and assessments.
- Ability to speak effectively before staff, students, Board of Directors, Administrators, and parents.
- Understand and carry out written, oral, or diagram form instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and to be self motivated.
- Must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without help.
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Work is sometimes performed outside and in all weather conditions and may include possible loud noise exposure.
- This position provides contact with students, staff, Administrators, Prospect Ridge Academy Board of Directors, and parents.
- Work hours may occasionally be extended.
