The Role
Prospect Schools is seeking a dynamic, equity-driven, and mission-aligned K–8 Director to join our team in support of our growing network of schools. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to instructional leadership and to supporting student achievement and teacher growth. This individual will report directly to a school Principal and will be responsible for leading instruction and teacher development in STEM, Humanities, or both—depending on the needs of the school.
This is a school-based role, and the individual will be expected to work full-time, in-person at one of our Brooklyn campuses. We are currently considering candidates with expertise in STEM, Humanities, or both content areas.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership & Coaching
Lead the implementation of rigorous, standards-aligned, and culturally responsive instruction
Provide high-impact coaching, feedback, and professional development to a cohort of teachers
Regularly observe instruction and co-develop plans to address areas for growth
Analyze student data and support teams in designing action plans to drive student achievement
School Culture & Team Collaboration
Model and uphold high expectations for academic rigor, equity, and belonging
Partner with the school leadership team to support teacher retention, instructional culture, and professional development
Serve as a thought partner to the Principal and contribute to strategic planning and instructional vision
Participate in family engagement, school events, and key school-based systems and routines
Candidate Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
At least 5 years of experience in education, including lead teaching experience
At least 1–2 years of experience as an instructional leader or coach
Deep expertise in either STEM and/or Humanities instruction
Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism, equity, and the success of all learners
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Salary
Employees at Prospect Schools are provided with a competitive salary. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual’s skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role. The salary range for this role is $108,000 to $119,212.
