What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fractional CFO position at Prosper CFO?
Fractional CFO
About You
You have the capacity to achieve much more than is being asked of you. You are a natural leader who has mastered your craft as a financial executive. You’re passionate about helping companies grow and create a legacy.
You are well-organized and incredibly comfortable in the role of financial leadership. You think strategically and love pushing companies (and people) to new heights. You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and seeing how you can make a real impact on a company and the lives within that company.
The Role
You will take leadership of a portfolio of growth-minded clients and be their CFO. You will help them define success, create the path there, and coach them along the way. Drawing upon your extensive background in accounting & finance you’ll help provide valuable insights into their business’s performance and how to impact their bottom and top line growth. You’ll be surrounded with an awesome team of accountants, tax experts and financial analysts to support you, so that you are able to operate in a CFO capacity: forward-looking and strategic thinking.
We prefer (but not require) a candidate who is…
- Located in Austin or central Texas
- Has an existing book of business to merge into the firm
- Has been in fractional/consulting (multi-client) roles
Responsibilities
- Build authentic relationships with clients, anchored on respect and trust.
- Guide clients in developing business and personal goals, and then create the financial road map to achieve those goals.
- Coach and encourage executives and owners as they move from where they are now to their desired goal.
- Prepare financial reports, analysis and forecasts, then present them to clients and discuss how to achieve their goals
- Utilize your expertise to make suggestions and help management make decisions now that will benefit their company (for example: securing that LOC, move accounting internally, deploy a new ERP, etc).
- Push the needle on large strategic and impactful decisions while staying out of the detailed weeds of accounting.
- Initiate difficult conversations with clients, challenging assumptions, and assertively, but respectfully telling hard truths.
