Primary Purpose:
The Multimedia Specialist supports Prosper ISD’s mission by creating dynamic, engaging, short-form content that highlights the district’s achievements, builds community engagement, and promotes a culture of excellence. This position is key to ensuring that Prosper ISD maintains a strong and positive online presence while effectively communicating with students, families, staff, and the community.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Associate’s degree or equivalent industry experience in communications, multimedia, or a related field
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in social media management, including a portfolio or examples of previous work (required for interview)
- Skilled in creating and posting dynamic content for Prosper ISD’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, the district website, and mobile app.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to maintain a detailed content calendar and coordinate comprehensive coverage of district-wide activities.
- Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends and best practices with an ability to identify new opportunities to enhance the district’s digital presence.
- Ability to rapidly and accurately create timely content for various social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and district mobile app
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines
- General knowledge of digital photography
- Self-motivated, with a collaborative mindset and the ability and willingness to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including the general public and district personnel
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, while maintaining high quality output
Experience:
Proven experience in producing high quality content for social media and web platforms using a variety of digital mediums
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Social Media and Communications
1. Partner with Prosper ISD staff, principals, and departments to gather and promote campus-specific content.
2. Frequently update and schedule posts across district social media platforms and the website to ensure timely communication.
3. Attend District events as needed to capture and share live content on social media.
4. Conduct training sessions to ensure that all stakeholders are proficient in updating and maintaining district, campus, and department social media content.
5. Participate in professional development to continuously improve skills and enhance job performance.
6. Track, and analyze, and report on key performance metrics such as follower growth, engagement rates, and reach to evaluate the effectiveness of content and communication strategies.
7. Prepare monthly reports to share insights with the Communications Team, offering insights and identifying areas for improvement.
8. Support overall District communications strategy, planning, and strategic direction.
9. Support other members of the Communications team in fulfillment of duties and responsibilities
10. Work closely with the Communications Team to maintain a cohesive and consistent message across all communication channels.
11. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
