Primary Purpose:
Assist in the collection, auditing, and reporting of District Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data and Office of Civil Rights (OCR) data for student, financial, and staff systems. Support campus and special program personnel by monitoring data entry, maintenance, and developing training materials related to accurate state and federal coding.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or GED required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficiency with school administration software (Skyward preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and proficiency with software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite
- Ability to meet established deadlines in a fast paced, multi priority environment and to multi-task and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven collaborative relationships between various departments at both the campus and District level
- Extensive knowledge of PEIMS Data Standards and the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook
- Working knowledge of the Texas Records Exchange module and the Texas Student Data System
- Ability to be organized, self-motivated, reliable, flexible, and punctual
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in school district administrative or campus support position
Experience collecting, validating and reporting PEIMS data in a public school system
Experience utilizing student information software programs
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
PEIMS Support
1. Work cooperatively with campuses and district departments to oversee the collection and support of all data required for State and Federal submissions according to the PEIMS Data Standards.
2. Run regular reports, and verification checks on data to ensure high quality data standards are maintained at the campus and district level.
3. Distribute errors and submission reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification and/or correction.
4. Receive PEIMS related information from ESC, PEIMS workshops, and/or TEA and disseminate to relevant staff in a timely manner, including updates to PEIMS data standards.
5. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required in Laserfiche repository or other designated record-keeping area.
6. Respond to data requests as they apply to PEIMS reporting.
7. Work collaboratively with PEIMS Coordinator to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and accuracy of the system for PEIMS data reporting.
8. Assist in providing and developing training materials for district personnel as it relates to PEIMS reporting.
9. Assist with completion of all required PEIMS Data Submissions, TSDS Core Collections, and OCR Federal reporting.
10. Gather required auditable documents as necessary to be provided at the request of the Texas Education Agency (TEA). 11. Verify PEIMS IDs are assigned and entered for all students. Assign unique IDs for students.
12. Assist with district Enrollment Tracking as required by established TEA guidelines.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of PEIMS.
14. Attend related conferences, trainings, and meetings as needed.

15. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
16. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required according to Texas Records retention standards.
17. Collaborate with the Director of PEIMS and PEIMS Coordinator to integrate responsibilities among the group.
18. Conduct responsibilities in accordance with customer care principles.
19. Maintain confidentiality to ensure data is secure.
20. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
21. Follow district emergency procedures and safety protocols.
