Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Specialist will report directly to the Compliance Manager of Testing and Quality Assurance. This role is pivotal in executing various regulatory compliance and quality assurance functions for our mortgage lending operations. Key responsibilities include auditing to ensure adherence to Agency and GSE standards, as well as federal and state laws, and internal company policies. Work hours are 8:00 to 5:00 Monday to Friday - Eastern Standard Time.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough QA audits to verify compliance with agency/GSE requirements, internal policies, and investor guidelines.
- Develop a solid understanding of the loan origination and closing process, including compliance requirements, to effectively audit loan files.
- Review mortgage file documentation and conduct comprehensive audits.
- Assist in both internal and external quality audits.
- Partner with internal business units to resolve issues and enhance processes.
- Work collaboratively with relevant business units to ensure best practices and compliance for all stakeholders, including lenders and federal/state/local agencies.
- Identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and risks, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Foster effective working relationships with department managers.
- Provide support to the Quality Assurance Manager as needed.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience in mortgage compliance and full audit quality control.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the mortgage industry.
- Familiarity with mortgage loan origination systems, particularly EllieMae Encompass360, is advantageous.
- Knowledge of TRID regulations is essential.
- Self-motivated with strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication abilities and a team-oriented mindset.
