Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift
PRIMARY FUNCTION :
Directing and supervising the day-to-day aspects of our production team members and supporting the resources in the Prospira environment. The Supervisor will work closely with Plant Management, Manufacturing Management and several other teams to ensure timely and efficient operations.
POSITION OBJECTIVES :
As with each role within Prospira, everyone is responsible to strive towards a safe, healthy, and clean working environment.
Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Coaching, counseling and disciplining employees and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
Monitoring KPI’s and making adjustments as necessary to achieve targets.
Improve on time delivery.
Monitor and coach teammates based on Safety / Quality / Productivity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Supervises and coordinates daily operation of production equipment.
Provides direction and assignments to production team members.
Provides coaching and training to production employees. Teaches production employees to be proactive in anticipating and solving problems.
Performs routine audits of work done by production employees with regard to compliance instructions and required process parameters.
Managing Processes, Process Improvement, Production Planning.
Demonstrates a friendly and approachable environment.
Diligent, reliable, detailed and thorough.
Enforce safety policies and procedures to decrease the potential for employee injuries.
Adjust production schedule as necessary.
Track team member attendance, and take disciplinary action as needed.
Use of HR tracking system and ADP.
Work with all departments to maintain on time delivery; inspect products prior to shipment to ensure accurate labeling and record keeping.
Maintain 3s throughout the plant
Perform KYT training.
Direct daily team member meeting and weekly safety training
Update the shipping schedule by shift to maintain on time delivery.
Update and maintain daily reports.
Answer all team member calls to provide guidance and support throughout the shift.
Maintain an open line of communication between employees and management.
Diligent, reliable, detailed and thorough.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Preferred minimum two (2) years supervisory experience in manufacturing / industrial environment.
Strong leadership ability and verbal communications skills.
Ability to coach others.
Basic problem solving ability.
Good organizational skills with high levels of motivation; action-oriented.
Ability to conduct / lead meetings and training sessions.
Skilled in problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
Microsoft and computer proficient.
Must meet all qualifications for Fire Extinguisher Training.
Must be CPR, First Aid, AED certified, or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
Must hold a valid tow motor license or obtain certification within 30 days of hire and maintain it continuously.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Two (2) year degree or equivalent and five (5) years’ experience and knowledge of production processes.
Preferred three (3) year supervisory experience in industrial environment.
Supervisory Skills Certificate and Coaching / Counseling training a plus.
Develop people in an environment that fosters change.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Ability to spend four (4) to six (6) hours on your feet in a high-temperature environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Able to maneuver around the plant floor to conduct tours, rapport-building, and employee discussions.
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK :
This is a full-time position. It is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, overtime, and most weekends.
Must be flexible with hours and days to accommodate our 24-hour workforce needs.
