Brewer - Cellar Specialist: Pay Range: $22-$26/hrShift: Sunday & Evenings
Job Description:
Responsible for raw material/finished goods handling, brewing, cellaring, and packaging at Prost Brewing Company - Northglenn. The qualified individual(s) will be capable of independently operating the following equipment/systems:
· 6 roller mill (fully automated)
· Brewhouse (5 Vessel – 20BBL; Semi Automated)
· Brewhouse (6 Vessel – 50BBBL; Fully Automated)
· Cellar Automation (Recipe management / Operation)
· Fermentation Vessels (CIP/SIP/Active Fermentation Monitoring)
· Centrifuge (Automated)
· Pentair Crossflow Filter (Automated)
· Brite Beer Tanks (CIP / AUP / SIP / SUP / Carbonation / Sensory Release Finished Product)
· Automated Keg Line (CIP / SIP / Operations)
· Automated Canning Line (250cpm / multiple pack types & sizes)
· Raw Material receiving
· Finished Goods shipping
Job Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Participate in the company’s quality assurance and safety programs as Prost grows in complexity, and scope. Programs to include but not limited to Prost Brewing Quality Management systems (QMS) and Engineering Management systems (EMS).
- Drives brewery achievement through personal development, participates in continuous education and improvement for all brewing operations.
- Supports and participates in the training of new employees as volume goals increase.
- Communicate with Engineering/Maintenance to ensure all PM/Calibration schedules are being followed.
- Own KPI targets in production, quality, brewing, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Hold yourself and others accountable. The team is only going to be effective if everyone is rowing in the same direction.
- Maintain a culture of innovation and engagement with all team members.
- As needed; involvement / assistance with marketing and promotional needs of Prost Brewing Company.
- As needed; involvement / assistance with public events and promotional activities.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Brewing, Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field required. Brewing specific education preferred. Please specify on resume.
- 3 years of experience in operations in alcohol/beer industry required.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently as well as in a group situation with excellent communication.
- High level of organization and proven success managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate effectively and take initiative.
- Proficient with Microsoft office and other office related software.
- Understanding of brewery regulatory compliance, beer science, craft beer and culture - specifically around German style lagers/ales.
- Comprehensive understanding of all operational stages of a manufacturing facility’s internal and external supply chains.
- Ability to compile, interpret, and communicate data in audience-relevant formats.
- Strong presentation skills. Ability to deliver impactful communications to groups of varying sizes and compositions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work 10-to-12-hour shifts depending on duties in cellar or brewhouse.
- Ability to work overnight shifts if in the brewhouse area.
- Frequent physical movement in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise.
- Ability to work on / around potentially dangerous equipment/machinery with moving mechanical parts.
- Ability to work in tight/cramped workspaces. Ability to work in high precarious places including ladders and steps.
- Ability to work with brewing chemicals, and cleaning agents.
- Heavy lifting required (100 lbs)
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, etc. for extended periods of time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
