Summary
As a Solar Service Technician at Prost Builders, you will play a vital role in the installation and maintenance of solar energy systems. This position is essential to our commitment to sustainable building practices and will contribute significantly to our ongoing projects across Missouri.
Responsibilities
- Install solar panels and related equipment on various structures.
- Read and interpret schematics to ensure accurate installations and upkeep on solar systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on solar systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with electricians to integrate solar systems into existing electrical frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues related to solar energy systems.
- Stage materials and tools and load trailers.
- Assemble racking, mounting systems and modules per specification.
- Gound and wire the modules and combiner box.
- Perform voltage testing.
- Assist with general ground support and site preparation/clean up.
Requirements
- Must have a clean driving record, valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Bend over and kneel on surfaces.
- Squat, crawl, twist in a variety of ways.
- Use power tools and other small tools such as hammers and wrenches.
- Handle inclement weather.
- Must have excellent teamwork and communications skills.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of grid-tied PV system design, electrical wire sizing, and conduit connections.
- Previous experience installing solar PV on the DC side of the system.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- NABCEP certification a plus!
