Job Overview
We are seeking a full-time Nutraceutical Formulation Specialist with expertise in Liquids /Softgels/Powders/Capsules/tablets. You will be responsible for developing and formulating new products, managing the product development process, and ensuring that all products meet quality and regulatory standards. The Formulator will work closely with other members of the R&D team, Sales team, Marketing team, and the Quality Assurance team.
Responsibilities
- Work with Sales and occasionally with Customers to understand their needs and present Ingredient expertise and capabilities.
- Serve as the technical expert to Sales, and Production teams to advance growth plans in the nutraceuticals segment
- Leverage technical knowledge and innovative approaches to address Customer needs using Ingredient portfolio to win business in the nutraceuticals market
- Participate in daily project meetings and perform project-related tasks as needed/assigned
- Provide technical and scientific materials and documentation to support project discussions with the Customer
- Maintain accurate records documentation of projects.
- Comfortable with Sales team, while thinking on feet to capture and respond to business opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science, Nutritional Science), master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred.
- Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in dietary supplements or nutraceuticals (preferably liquids, powders and softgels), and must have experience working with multiple dosage forms in liquids, soft gels, powders, capsules, and tablets.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations pertaining to dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, food, and cosmetics
- Experience with formulation software, and knowledge of current trends and developments in the nutraceutical industry
- Experience with process R&D, scale-up and technology transfer in a GMP environment
- Experience with quality by design (QbD) processes is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Dynamic, driven, innovative, out of the box thinker with a can-do mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
