About the Role :
A leading financial institution is seeking an Application Development Manager to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise applications, including enhancements to the core banking platform. This role focuses on delivering business solutions that drive operational efficiency through technology. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience with financial institution technologies, and a solid background in software development best practices.
Must-Have Experience :
6 years working with financial institution technologies such as Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU), MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, OpCon, etc.
Expertise in software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.
Proven leadership and people management experience, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and guiding teams.
Ability to influence executive leadership and collaborate across business units.
Strong understanding of agile and iterative project management methodologies. Nice-to-Have Skills :
BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Hands-on experience developing, integrating, and supporting core banking applications (Symitar / PowerOn / RepGen).
Knowledge of IBM AIX operating system.
SQL development for relational databases, HTML, and JavaScript.
Familiarity with ITIL framework and experience implementing engineering processes. Key Responsibilities :
Lead and manage a team of core developers across multiple business lines and projects.
Collaborate with the Enterprise PMO and key stakeholders to ensure project success.
Foster a team-oriented work environment that values diversity, collaboration, and innovation.
Oversee software design, development, and governance , ensuring high-quality, efficient solutions.
Define design patterns, review code , and enforce best practices for compliance and security.
Work closely with external vendors to integrate third-party solutions and stay aligned with industry advancements.
Continuously improve application management practices by analyzing performance metrics and user feedback. Compensation & Benefits :
Competitive salary : $113K - $142K (plus annual bonus).
