QA Lead

About the Role

A leading technology-driven organization is seeking an experienced Video SaaS QA Manager to lead quality assurance efforts for a cutting-edge video streaming platform. This role involves managing a distributed QA team, defining and implementing testing strategies, and ensuring high-quality software releases across multiple platforms, including web, mobile (Android & iOS), Smart TVs, and Progressive Web Apps (PWAs). The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of video streaming technologies, SaaS environments, and software testing methodologies .

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers across multiple time zones, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.

Develop and execute comprehensive QA strategies, test plans, and test cases covering functional, performance, security, and usability testing.

Establish and enforce QA best practices and standards across the software development lifecycle.

Oversee test execution, analyze results, and identify / report software defects.

Collaborate closely with development, product, and operations teams to ensure the timely release of high-quality software.

Manage testing environments, tools, and resources while coordinating with geographically distributed teams.

Implement and oversee test automation frameworks and tools to improve efficiency and test coverage.

Track and report on key quality metrics, including defect density, test coverage, and execution time.

Stay updated with the latest testing technologies, methodologies, and industry trends.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality across the organization.

Ensure effective communication within the QA team and with stakeholders across different time zones. Testing Methodology & Process

Utilize a hybrid approach of Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies based on project needs.

Apply risk-based testing techniques to prioritize critical areas for validation.

Conduct various testing types, including exploratory, regression, performance, security, and usability testing .

Implement and maintain test automation strategies for efficiency and scalability.

Define structured bug tracking, reporting, and resolution processes for global teams. Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

8 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing distributed teams.

Proven experience collaborating with international teams across multiple time zones.

Strong expertise in video streaming technologies and protocols (HLS, DASH, etc.).

Experience testing SaaS applications and microservices architectures .

Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Redis, MySQL , and other backend technologies.

Knowledge of Kotlin, Kotlin Multiplatform, and Compose is a plus.

Hands-on experience testing across web browsers, Android, iOS, Smart TVs, and PWAs .

Expertise in developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts .

Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, Espresso, Compose testing library).

Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies .

Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, especially in cross-cultural environments.

Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling) is a plus.
