Raw Materials Specialist

We are seeking a Raw Materials Specialist to join our dynamic team at a leading women’s retailer. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of colors, fabrics, garments, and components throughout the product development and production process. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain the highest standards for our raw materials, ensuring alignment with our brand’s quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the quality of colors and fabrics, including garments and components, to ensure final product excellence.
- Assist in the technical development, pre-production, and cataloging of all fabrics and colors, ensuring consistency from concept to production.
- Conduct regular store visits to monitor fabric and color quality under store lighting conditions, ensuring alignment with brand standards.
- Collaborate with design, production, and sourcing teams to address material-related challenges and optimize fabric development processes.
- Maintain and update raw material libraries, tracking fabric and color approvals efficiently.
- Provide technical expertise in fabric performance, color fastness, and textile technology to support the product lifecycle.
- Utilize Excel, Centric, PowerPoint, and Adobe to manage fabric and color development documentation and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Textile Science, Fashion Technology, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in fabric and color development within the fashion or retail industry.
- Proficiency in Excel, Centric, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
- Strong understanding of textile testing, color standards, and quality assurance processes.
- Expertise in fabric and color development within apparel.
- Proficiency in textile technology and quality control standards.
- Ability to manage and analyze fabric and color data effectively.
- Experience using PLM systems (e.g., Centric) for material tracking.
