As a Fleet Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall health of our equipment rental fleet as it pertains to managing new/used equipment/parts/accessory acquisitions, assetization and retirement policies and procedures. This is a supporting role to the Fleet Manager/Expeditor ensuring proper inventory levels nationwide and assisting with damaged or missing asset incidents. Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain vendor relationships with equipment manufacturers, distributors, and parts suppliers.
- Responsible for monitoring eBay / other online marketplaces for appropriate used equipment acquisitions.
- Responsible for all Fleet Management related PO’s, from new equipment to parts and accessory stocking, including reconciliation of any applicable drop shipped PO’s.
- Responsible for new equipment assetization and retirement processes and procedures as they pertain to the asset lifecycle analysis.
- Responsible for keeping up to date records of all accessory parts that go with our equipment to ensure fast and reliable responses to MAD (Missing and Damaged) emails for any equipment returned to us missing or damaged accessories or to the unit itself.
- Assist in in reaching out to vendors for updates on equipment that has been sent to them for repairs or calibrations to speed up the process.
- Provide support to the Fleet Manager/Expeditor to ensure proper inventory levels and assist with damaged/missing incidents (MAD).
- Any other assigned tasks by the Fleet Manager.
Ideal Qualifications:
- 2 years of warehouse, logistics, or accounting experience is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work efficiently as a cross-functional team liaison.
- Detail-oriented and analytical with the ability to quickly analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Understanding of general business structure from multiple perspectives.
- Self-motivated and proactive – always attempting to answer the “how” and “why”.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- 1-2 years minimum in using an asset/inventory management software system.
