Protect the Land Security is hiring a DPSST-certified Supervisory Manager to oversee unarmed security personnel deployed to wildfire response sites, including Incident Command Posts, Fire Camps, and access-controlled zones. As the on-site lead, the Supervisory Manager ensures that teams are operating professionally, safely, and in full compliance with ODF, DPSST, and federal incident protocols. This position plays a critical role in daily team leadership, incident reporting, and communication with fire operations staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, schedule, and support unarmed security staff at assigned locations
- Conduct site briefings, shift handovers, and daily personnel check-ins
- Ensure guards are positioned correctly and adhering to post orders
- Address on-site issues such as conflict resolution, team coordination, or policy
clarification
- Maintain incident logs, daily activity reports, and personnel status updates
- Liaise directly with fire camp leadership (Logistics Section Chief, Security Manager, etc.)
- Assist in onboarding and coaching new team members as needed
- Monitor guard performance and safety across 12–18 hour shift periods
Qualifications:
- DPSST Supervisory Manager Certification (Required)
- Must be 21 years old
- Minimum 2 years of experience in security, fire camp operations, or incident
Response
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Able to operate in fast-moving, unpredictable field environments
- Comfortable working extended shifts outdoors, with limited amenities
- Must have reliable transportation and on-call readiness
Deployment Structure:
- Shifts may be up to 21 consecutive days followed by a rest period
- Deployments may occur in remote or high-risk wildfire zones
- Lodging and meals provided during active assignments
- Per diem and travel pay may be available based on assignment
