Knitting Machine Mechanic - Fixer
Summary : Monitor and assist with set up and repairs for a set of machines that automatically produce knitted gloves and other apparel by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Clean, oil and lubricate machines as needed.
- Validate machine based on setup ticket to produce glove to specification.
- Check gloves for defects, size gloves and perform maintenance on machines as needed.
- Confer with co-workers to obtain information about problems or processes.
- Constantly performs inspection of knitting machines to determine whether repairs or adjustments are needed, will repair if necessary.
- Notify supervisor or head fixer of mechanical malfunctions, if unable to solve problem.
- Help catch lights, clip strings and check gloves when caught up.
- Repair or replace worn or defective needles, sinkers and jacks as needed.
- Help keep production area clean and organized.
- Perform duties of knitter as needed and during knitters break times.
