Unarmed Security Officer

We are looking for professional unarmed security guards to protect our contracted premises, assets and personnel in the Danville area. You will maintain a high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions. The goal is to detect, deter, observe, and report.

Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, clients, visitors, and other persons to guard against threats of violence and maintain security of the premises.

Conduct routine patrols of the assigned property to ensure clients, staff members, and others on the property are safe and secure.

Enforce applicable policies, rules, and procedures

Write and complete occurrence/incident reports regarding incidents that occur on the property involving clients, staff members, and/or other individuals and property.

Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.

Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.

Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security doors, windows, and gates are closed and in proper working order.

Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent the distribution of prohibited articles into restricted areas.

Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary

Use a variety of communication and security techniques on clients and visitors with an extremely broad range of atypical behavior in order to diffuse crisis situations.

Assist other officers at designated locations.

Render first aid or CPR.

Preferred Experience: Basic computer skills: Ability to use Word and e-mail and navigate the internet. Keyboarding/typing skills

Required Certifications, Licensures and Skills:

• Must have security permit for VA.
• Must be registered with the VA DCJS to provided security services.
• Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
• A trained security officer with appropriate certification.
• Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
• Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
• Integrity and professionalism.
• High school degree.
• Job Type: Full-time.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• P/T [Afternoon/weekend/nights (rotating shift)]
