POSITION PURPOSE:
Under direction of the shift supervisor, the FSQS Lead Technician ensures the FSQS Technicians are following quality and food safety procedures to maintain the quality and safety of the food products produced by Dorada Foods.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Compliance:
- The technician must be in their work area, ready to work at the posted start time. The expectation is the Lead will spend 85% of the shift on the production floor.
- This position is required to carry the company provided radio at all times and communicate as required by SOP.
- Ensure that all Food Safety Policies are followed and immediately take control of, correct and report any potential Food Safety deficiencies
Training and Development:
- Be knowledgeable on all product specifications for specific customers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of all SPS, SSOP and GMP programs.
- Help train FSQS technicians on SPS, SSOP, and GMP programs.
Communication:
- Keep FSQS Supervisors informed of plant Food Safety and Quality deficiencies and communicate needs to departments.
- Prepare Work Order requests and communicate needs with Maintenance. Track progress of completed and open work orders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prefer Food Quality Assurance experience
- High School diploma required, Degree preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint a plus
- Excellent Communications skills (English preferably)
- Quick learner and must be able to multi task
- People person, a well driven attitude with flexible hours
- Time management must be excellent when completing projects, task.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Will require walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day, in some cases up to 12 hours/shift. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 50 pounds for finished cases, ingredients, or other items in conjunction with production operations.
The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: refrigerated room temperatures, lighting and traditional processing equipment as found in a typical production environment
