The Performance Cable Systems and Materials Division has been a leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality copper and fiber optic communication cables for over 35 years. Our state-of-the-art facility specializes in the design and construction of advanced communication cables. The PCA™ Category 5e, 6, 6A, and fiber optic cables are engineered to surpass applicable standards and outperform required specifications for applications such as gigabit Ethernet, 10-gigabit Ethernet, VOIP, and POE .
Position Summary
This role provides leadership across production and operations departments with broad responsibility leading multiple departments within the organization, to achieve strategic goals and financial success. Serves as a key advisor responsible for overall plant operation.

- Oversee multi-functional areas of responsibility including but not limited to Manufacturing, Production Planning and Control, Facilities, Logistics, Maintenance, and Safety.
- Oversee and actively participate and lead in determining and implementing
long term strategic objectives, including development of strategic plans and budgets - Responsible for product quality, delivery, and cost-efficient operations
- Partner cross functionally, with Engineering, Sales, etc. to work with senior leadership to establish and implement company strategies to ensure high performance in quality, operational efficiency, compliance and customer service
- Communicate company vision and strategies for the improvement of key business metrics so that standards are understood by management and employees
- Work with Continuous Improvement department to support, communicate, and promote process improvement initiatives
- Provide guidance and motivation to staff in attaining career goals
- Conduct management review meetings to share projects and workshop events
- Understand and comply with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the business
- Provide oversight, maintaining capable manufacturing processes and controls on production lines
- Support initiatives to improve manufacturing, production and planning, supply chain and inventory controls department
- Oversee facilities/maintenance and shipping departments with a focus on adhering to and achieving safety standards with minimal interruption and improving ability for continues run time
- Implement a strong safety culture and drive safety as top priority.
- Manage continuous improvement team to drive and implement LEAN culture.
- Strong LEAN background – Certified, Green Belt or above
- Strong leader and mentor to management staff, supervisors, and operations team
- Work with senior leadership on budgets, meeting financial metrics and operational metrics of the facility
- Oversee all operations, including production, accessories fulfillment, logistics, supply chain, engineering, and facilities at both locations.
- Help vice president of sales with forecasting and running MRP (material requirements planning) with production planner and purchasing manager.
- Hold the organization accountable for hitting daily goals and upholding quality / operational standards
- Use ERP and plant capacity models to determine staffing and work schedule requirements
- coach and develop associates and drive development plans for direct reports and organization.
- Use plant data analysis tools for performance metric tracking, reporting, and problem solving. Metrics include safety, quality, people, delivery, inventory, cost, and productivity.
- Prepare appropriate plant information needed to complete Company financial requirements such as strategic plans & budgets.
- Responsible for major operational decisions made at the site include: labor levels & allocations, material utilization, purchasing approvals (within assigned approval levels), maintaining budgets (both fixed and variable), inventory levels, capital expenditures (up to approval level), safety programs, maintaining financial control, ensuring all corporate policies and procedures are followed, ensuring OHSA/EPA, local, state and federal guidelines are followed as well as affirmative action guidelines.
- Responsible for preparation of financial information required by the business to complete monthly financials, strategic plans, and budgets.

Work Environment
This job operates in a controlled manufacturing environment designed for sustained production. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Sitting for periods of time at a desk in office environment
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment
- Working in manufacturing environment several hours per day to oversee production, safety and 5S/JIT initiatives
- Light lifting and carrying of files, supplies, up to 30 lbs. of weight.
- Ability to speak and hear customers, vendors, and or other employees via phone or in person
- Body motor skills sufficient to move from one office to another
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The manufacturing plant is open 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Due to the plant operation hours, this position is required to make periodic meetings during the off-hour shifts. This is as needed.
Travel
Little to no travel is expected for this position.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Senior level and general manager level experience
- Minimum of 10 years manufacturing experience in a wire and cable environment, including 7 years supervisory experience and cost responsibility
- Previous experience working with cable and wire products in a multifaceted manufacturing environment
- Expertise in managing and leading multiple functional areas such as manufacturing, production control, quality, product development and materials, engineering, facilities, operations, customer relations, etc. to achieve company objectives
- Familiarity and experience with lean manufacturing and lean activity
