Job Description:
- Core areas of responsibility include team leadership of hardware and software engineering and collaborating and partnering with the Product, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
- This role is an opportunity to impact the leading product in the market and extend success in new fast growth sectors of sustainability and hazard monitoring.
- Provide engineering leadership in all aspects of the hardware, software delivery cycle, including design, build, test, deploy, and scale up both in the US and Internationally (Brazil, EMEA, Australia).
- Lead a talented engineering team across Electrical, Mechanical, Embedded Software, Web Software and Test engineering disciplines and drive multiple initiatives to success
- Collaborate with other team leaders and peers in Manufacturing/Production, Product Management, CX, Install Operations and Sales
- Manage risk and help the team navigate challenges
- Continuously drive technical, process and financial improvements.
- Interact with vendors concerning OEM components
- Establish robust product lifecycle planning, refresh and replacement cycles across all our Digital product lines
- Drive improvements in how we build software – tools, communication, and architecture
- Able to provide an overview of product offerings to interested stakeholders such as clients, team members, vendors, and channel sales partners looking to know more about the technologies we create
- Lead organizational change through the adoption of strategic technologies, architectures, best practices, and tooling in support of hardware and software development
- Coach, develop, mentor and inspire a talented team of Engineers. Conduct performance evaluations and recruit and interview new team members as required.
- Verify project and product compliance with engineering best practices, risk management and certification needs
- Maintain and update engineering department policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required, Masters degree or equivalent preferred
- 10 years of related work experience, 5 years managerial experience
- Exposure to a wide variety of web technologies and frameworks for Enterprise – Full Stack, React, JavaScript, etc.
- Experience building scalable, cloud-based platforms – AWS, Kubernetes
- Familiarity with engineering tools like Solidworks, AutoCAD, Altium, Eagle, GIT, Bitbucket, PostMan, Fusion 360, Arena
- Experience hiring and developing a high-performing team Engineering team
- Ability to take a holistic view of product lifecycle development for large and small scale brands
- Proficient with: Word, Excel, Outlook and other typical business software packages.
- Job Type: Direct Hire
- Salary Range: $200K - $225K
- Location: Lenexa, KS (Onsite – 5 days a week).
