Position Title: Hardware Design Engineer 2

Position Description: Protingent has an exciting contract opportunity for a Hardware Design Engineer 2 with our client located in Raleigh, NC. This role is Fully Remote however candidates that can come into the office in Raleigh, NC are preferred.

Job Description:

• We are looking for a Senior Analog Mixed Signal Layout Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience and a proven track record in finfet technology, up to and including successful tapeout. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to define and adhere to a schedule, and has extensive experience with all analog power blocks, including LDO's, Bandgaps and load arrays.

Job Responsibilities:

• Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is delivering custom analog and memory IPs, work on test chip products on the next generation of products.
• Key projects: This role will contribute to designing and creating the layout for analog mixed signal circuits.
• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 80% heads down working, 20% or less on meetings.
  
  
  

Job Qualifications:

Must Have 4 years’ experience with Custom/Digital IP layout for analog mixed signal circuits.

Must Have 4 years’ experience with Virtuoso and Calibre.

Must Have 2 years’ experience with delivery and successful tapeouts.

3 overall years of experience in the field.

No degree is required to be eligible for this role.

The ideal resume would contain experience with low-dropout (LDO) regulators, Bandgap Reference circuits, ADCs, DACs, Amplifiers, and CMOS technology.

The sponsor would like to stress the importance of Custom/Digital IP experience for this role.

Candidates with significant experience in Physical Design will not be eligible for this role, candidates must have the majority of their recent experience in Custom/Digital IP.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in analog mixed signal layout design.

Deep understanding of finfet technology(<=5nm) and its application in analog mixed signal design.

Demonstrated success in tapeouts of complex analog mixed signal circuits.

Proficiency with industry-standard design and verification tools.

Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Experience with low-dropout (LDO) regulators, Bandgap Reference circuits, ADCs, DACs, Amplifiers.
• Knowledge of foundational analog blocks and their application in layout design.
• Familiarity with mixed-signal design in leading-edge CMOS technology.
  
  
  

Job Details:

• Job Type: Contract
• Location: Fully Remote however candidates that can come into the office in Raleigh, NC are preferred.
• Pay Range: $44 - $55/hr.
