What You'll Do
Role Overview:
The SLS Model Finisher will be responsible for support removal, safe cleaning, and finishing of RP models. They will be responsible for the routine cleaning of the facility. Multiple shifts available: Th-M 10am-7pm, W-Su 10am-7pm, M-F 4pm-1am, and F-Tu 4am-1pm.
Details:
- Clean and finish RP models according to procedures. This is achieved by use of sandpaper, bead blasting equipment and other small tools to prepare RP models according to Customer specifications
- Effectively use all checklists associated with the cleaning and finishing of RP models
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment and assist with the restocking of supplies
- Assist in the removal and disposal of contaminated materials according to procedures
- Observe all Safety and Quality Procedures
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
What You Need:
- Rigid attention to detail with the capacity to work with small features and tight tolerances
- Must be able to follow instructions and focus on the specific details involved in accurately finishing models
- Must be able to work while standing up to 75% of the time
- Periods of high concentration and visual focus when finishing small and intricate models
- Normal duties require the use of safety equipment to include but no limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, lab coats and gloves
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Demands:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is expected to sit and stand for the entire shift, lift up to 50 pounds waist high, carry up to 50 pounds alone. Essential job duties require reaching, bending, and grasping. Able to read machine-shop gauges and indicators.
Work Environment:
Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in a manufacturing setting requiring normal safety precautions (eye protection and hearing protection). Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
